On its way through the fog of the digital future



Today’s News:
More than 60 submissions for first call

On 14th May 2010 the deadline for first cross-media projects’ call closed, and we proudly announce that more than 60 submissions arrived in First Motion’s offices. Creatives from the Baltic Sea Region were invited to send in their innovative project ideas concerning new formats, content development, market approaches, multi-plattform uses, creative distribution ways and community activities.
Until the end of May 2010 we will be busy with analyzing the various submissions which focus on target audiences and markets within the Baltic Sea Region itself.
At the beginning of June 2010 we will inform the applicants which pilot project(s) will be chosen to be granted support: The funding includes up to 30.000€ development/production money, two international workshops which are mandatory, individual mentoring by First Motion partners as well as digital publishing and international marketing of the pilot project/product.

Sneak Preview:
First LAB is about to happen

From 12th to 15th July 2010 the first „Baltic cross-media development LAB“ will take place in Tallinn, Estonia.
The workshops will be prepared and organized by the Tallinn University Baltic Film and Media School (BFM) which is the only academy in Northern Europe teaching programs in television, cinema, media, and communication in English. Within the framework of the LAB the university will provide its expertise in matters of transnational education, training and audiovisual media.
Parallel to First Motion’s initiating LAB the second „Workshop in Creative Industries will be offered jointly by the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and BFM from 12th to 22nd July 2010. The non-degree course aims to investigate Creative Industries as contributing part of economic growth and will take place in Tallinn in its first half to be completed in Riga.
 
 
Retrospective:
Distribution Workshop at Filmby Aarhus

More than 30 key people out of film, gaming and distribution industries participated in the workshop „What is missing between content and market?“ organized and hold by First Motion’s partner Filmby Aarhus, Denmark. With Asta Wellejus und Redar Jortveit as key speakers the event was dedicated to help the industry to identify new market possibilities and to be equipped for the future of digitalized distribution. Videos and Podcasts from the workshop will be online soon and can be found through our blog.
